Thinking Bigger In Medical Device Sales

A lot of people think breaking into medical device sales is only about skill. Yes, skill matters. Yes, strategy matters. But one of the biggest things that actually changes lives in this industry is maturity.
That does not mean age.
It means how you think.
We have seen people in their early 20s come in at over $148,000, and we have seen people in their 30s and 40s have to grow through the exact same mindset process. If you do not believe you are worth $150,000, you will find a way to self-sabotage before anyone else has to do it for you.
That is what happens all the time. Someone says they want six figures, but then they pull themselves out of interview processes because the number feels too big, the opportunity feels too advanced, or they do not think they belong in the room.
The shift is this: start treating these opportunities like they matter.
If you knew a role was worth $400,000 one day, you would prepare differently. You would research more. You would follow up harder. You would leave no stone unturned. That is the difference.
The people who break in and rise fast do not just learn the interview process. They mature into the kind of person who can hold those conversations, build trust, and believe they belong.
That same mindset shift applies once you are in the industry too. If you are talking to scrub techs, surgeons, managers, and executives, you have to be able to relate to people at every level. You cannot shrink in those rooms. You have to grow into them.
A huge part of that comes from abundance. There is money everywhere. There is opportunity everywhere. The moment that mindset changes, everything changes. You stop operating from fear, lack, and comparison, and you start building from value.
And that is what medical device sales rewards: value.
The reps who keep growing are the ones who keep maturing. They get around people who think bigger. They stop letting fear run the show. They stop waiting to feel ready. They keep learning, keep improving, and keep betting on themselves.
Final Thoughts
If you want to break into medical device sales or level up inside the industry, keep maturing. Keep growing. Get around people who believe in you, challenge you, and help you think bigger. The skill set matters, but the mindset is what unlocks everything. Once you believe you are capable of more, you start showing up like it and that is when everything begins to change.
